About FairClimateFund (FCF)

The FairClimateFund is an organisation based in the Netherlands concerned about the adverse effects of climate change. Its projects supported through Lendwithcare are based in Rwanda and India. They believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that future generations are provided with a secure environment and sustainable existence. The FairClimateFund work to bring about real change before the effects of climate change are irreversible, through projects that reduce global CO2 emissions and create a sustainable existence for people in low-income countries.

As of October 2021, the FairClimateFund has been Lendwithcare’s implementation partner for Climate Positive Grants. Their goal is to make climate neutrality the norm in a fair way. This means working towards a better climate and helping the most vulnerable people become more resilient to the effects of climate change. FairClimateFund projects have been carefully chosen to create positive and lasting impacts, from implementing efficient cooking solutions to planting and protecting trees.

What is FCF's vision?

They aim for a fair climate: a world in which those who contribute most to climate change invest in CO₂-reduction projects that benefit people who are most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Those with a large carbon footprint invest in carbon reduction projects with high social impact that meet the Gold Standard and/or Fairtrade Climate Standard. The FairClimateFund focuses on clean cooking interventions combined with nature-based solutions. Its projects reduce CO₂ emissions and deforestation, while directly improving the lives of people in low-income countries.

The FairClimateFund continuously strives to deliver climate projects with the greatest social impact. A large proportion of their projects are already certified by the Gold Standard and the Fairtrade Climate Standard. In addition, their projects contribute to various sustainable development goals (SDGs). They currently have projects in India, Rwanda, Peru, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Uganda and Indonesia, among others.
