Why is Lendwithcare providing loans in the West Bank and not providing donations?

Lendwithcare is first and foremost a lending model, facilitating access to small business loans through a network of local development partners. At the heart of what we do is the belief that small-scale business owners, operating in some of the world's most challenging contexts, also deserve the opportunity to build their income-generating activities and create a more secure and resilient future for themselves and their families. The same is true in the West Bank and for the thousands of entrepreneurs living there.

With loans funded through Lendwithcare, our local partner in Palestine can continue to serve those small-scale business owners still in need of finance to run and grow their businesses. It is important for the operational sustainability of our local partner that they continue to lend money, and not donate it, therefore enabling them to serve even more people in the future when these loans are repaid. Microloans are not suitable for all people and in all contexts. If you are interested in donating to support CARE's humanitarian work in the West Bank and Gaza you can do so here.
