This will vary from project to project. For example, in India the FairClimateFund designs a user survey and visits a sample of 300 representative households to check that the improved cookstoves are being used. The survey also asks questions around other factors such as time and income. The user survey is then reviewed by an organisation called SustainCERT, the Gold Standard’s impact accounting and verification body. Once the Gold Standard accepts the verification it issues the requisite number of carbon credits.
Please note that by making a climate positive grant, you will not be issued with carbon credits. Any carbon credits will be sold by the FairClimateFund and the funds generated through the sale will be invested back into the projects you choose to support.

We're proud to introduce a new way to support low-income families most at risk of climate change through Lendwithcare. Find out more about making a grant today.
