Is this a carbon offsetting programme?

Carbon offsetting allows individuals and companies to balance out unavoidable emissions with carbon credits. With carbon offsetting you ensure that, in exchange for the CO2 emissions that you cause, less CO2 is emitted elsewhere, or CO2 is removed from the air. There are various ways to offset your CO2 emissions, such as planting trees or investing in projects that provide improved cookstoves or focus on sustainable energy.

By making a climate positive grant through Lendwithcare, you will not be issued with carbon credits. Any carbon credits generated through the project you choose to support will be sold by the FairClimateFund. The funds generated through the sale of carbon credits will be invested directly back into the project to further support the low-income households who benefited from your grant when it was first made.

Because you won't be issued with carbon credits, unfortunately your grant cannot be considered to be a carbon offset. However, through the verification process, you can be confident in the actual CO2 emissions reduced/absorbed reported back to you.
