Mrs. Hang is a 41-year-old mother of two children aged 11 and 8, both attending school. Their family lives in Ngoc Lac district, a mountainous area in Thanh Hoa province. Despite the difficult living conditions and limited access to transportation, Mrs. Hang, alongside her husband who works as a construction worker, has been engaged in small-scale farming and animal husbandry for over 20 years, striving to make ends meet for their family,
Recognizing the need to enhance their income, Mrs. Hang and her husband decided to invest in long-term industrial tree planting to harvest wood and increase their earnings, contributing to the sustainable development of the local agriculture sector. However, the family faced a financial obstacle in the form of insufficient funds for land improvement. In response, they asked for this first loan from CARE UK to purchase 192 bags of fertilizer and hire laborers to tend to the tree garden, with the expectation of a harvest in five years' time.
She is optimistic about the future, where her family's income increases, and also contributes a sustainable agricultural practice that can potentially benefit the entire community.
