In September 2024, Buaphan received a loan funded by Lendwithcare to expand her silk-weaving business. She has been engaged in this since her youth and she continues to run it as she approaches her 60s. Since her family is quite large, earning more income has always been crucial for everyone. With the loan, she was able to purchase warp and weft threads, colour dyes, rigid handle reeds, and other weaving tools. These supplies are essential for growing her business as she had planned.
Since receiving the loan, Buaphan’s silk weaving has significantly improved. She has been able to produce and sell on a larger scale thanks to the high quality supplies the loan has allowed her to purchase. As she has got older, she has found it harder to work outside the home. Weaving is a perfect occupation for her, as she can work at her own pace and still have time to care for her children and grandchild.
Buaphan is deeply grateful for the loan and expressed her heartfelt thanks to Lendwithcare and all our lenders, saying, “Thank you so much for supporting my small weaving business. With the funds, I have been able to achieve more than I thought possible in improving my business. I promise to keep going and will do my best to maintain this business for as long as I can.”
