Suai secured a loan through Lendwithcare in early 2023 to improve her cricket-raising business, which was struggling due to a lack of sufficient supplies to meet customer demand. With the loan, she was able to expand her raising area and purchase more cricket eggs, fresh vegetables and feed. These investments were crucial in stabilising her business, enabling her to operate more efficiently and fulfil the demands.
Despite the positive impact of the loan, Suai has faced challenges due to the low price of crickets during this period. This has led to higher costs and reduced profits. However, the loan provided her with the stability she needed to continue her business. Moreover, raising crickets has been her long-term business and main source of income apart from rice farming. With the loan, she has been able to sustain her livelihood and support her family, providing them with a more comfortable life.
Looking ahead, Suai plans to further expand her raising area, making it more suitable and sustainable, which will benefit her farm operations in the long run.
