Since getting their loan to help cover their farming costs, Tha and Chorvon have already finished planting their rice & maize. Their rice has been growing for over two months and they planted their maize 15 days ago. This time they are growing their rice on three hectares and their maize on around one hectare. There has not been as much rain as normal for this time of year so Tha has been visiting their farm regularly, even though it is about 20 kilometers away from their home. Both their rice and maize could be harvested in November as long as there is no natural disaster. While they wait to harvest, and to earn extra income for their household, Chorvon makes Khmer Cake to sell from home to home. They can make a profit of around $2.5 a day selling this Cake.
