Besita James, who used to be part of the Khamalathu Group, has now been able to take an individual loan with repayments finishing in September 2016. Besita runs a well-stocked, busy shop in the local market. She sells beans, cereals, eggs, soap, milk, soft drinks, sweets and much more. She runs the shop with her husband and she also has one employee. She told us that her business is doing well. She used all the loan money to re-stock the shop and move to the market. The shop is busy but the profit is still small. She has been able to make all the repayments and to buy a plot of land. She also told us that she has bought a car to be able to transport goods for her shop cutting delivery costs. Her plans for next year include to get a larger loan and start selling some products wholesale.
