Meet the incredible Rabecca, an entrepreneur from Zambia with a natural talent for sewing!

In May, I had the pleasure of accompanying a group of dedicated Lendwithcare supporters on a fundraising bike ride from Lusaka to Livingstone. It was one of the most challenging rides many of us had ever taken on, but we were rewarded with an unforgettable time meeting entrepreneurs like Rabecca, who recently received funding through Lendwithcare.

We met Rabecca on a sunny afternoon in Simoonga, a rural community located about 15km from Livingstone and close to the Zimbabwe border. Like so many entrepreneurs supported through Lendwithcare, we were immediately struck by her positive outlook on life.

Rabecca prides herself on being a quick learner, and recently put her sharp mind to work by developing her skills as a seamstress. She learned to sew just seven months ago and told us that she became so confident with her skills that she quickly became better than her teacher! When her teacher (the only seamstress in the village at the time) decided to move, Rabecca was provided with the opportunity to take over the shop in the local marketplace. She now produces skirts, shirts, dresses and school uniforms for the local community.

A Lendwithcare loan provided Rabecca with the capital she needed to take on this new business venture. She has been delighted with the change she has seen in her personal life and told us about the positive impact this has had on her three children.

Sometimes, it's the small changes that mean the most. Rabecca told us how pleased she was to provide her eldest son, a talented artist, with new art supplies. We wish Rebecca and her children a bright and happy future!
