Nguyet

Nguyet, 43, lives in the coastal community of Hai Binh in Nghi Son town with her family. She is a mother of three, with her eldest child working in a factory while her two younger children continue their education. Her husband supports the family through his work as a fisherman.

Nguyet's husband has spent many years working as an offshore fisherman, where earnings often depend on shifting weather and the success of each catch. To support her family, Nguyet combines her home responsibilities with seafood processing and a small fish-trading business. Taking advantage of her coastal location, she buys fresh seafood from local fishermen, including her husband's catch, and sells it to traders and customers in the surrounding area.

Growing demand for seafood has created new opportunities, but limited working capital has constrained her business's growth. With a loan, Nguyet plans to buy 400 kg of fresh squid and 250 kg of shrimp to expand her stock and boost sales. In addition to running her market stall, she delivers seafood directly to customers and often works late into the evening to ensure every product is sold. Her hard work, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit are helping her build a more stable future for her family.
