Please note that there is currently an acute shortage of hard currency (USD, GBP, Euros etc) in Malawi and repayments may be subject to delay. We are working hard with our local partners in Malawi to ensure repayments are returned to lenders on time.

The Talandira 3 Group is a hardworking group of married entrepreneurs from Ntchisi, Malawi, united by their determination to improve their livelihoods and provide for their families. Together, the members support 12 children through businesses that include farming, selling vegetables, fish, tomatoes and snacks, restaurants, grocery stores and livestock. Their combined efforts reflect a commitment to building stronger household incomes and greater financial security.

Among the ambitious members is Dolasi, a 34-year-old woman, married and a mother of two children. She has been involved in farming for four years, having started her agricultural business to generate income, reduce poverty, and contribute towards greater food security for her family.

Dolasi has steadily developed her farming activities and is supported by an impressive 11 family members, who assist with the work involved in the enterprise. With this family effort behind her, she is looking beyond simply maintaining her current activities and is determined to expand her opportunities.

Dolasi plans to use the loan to invest additional capital in her farming business, helping her strengthen production and improve the returns from her work. Her ambitions extend beyond her current enterprise: she hopes to make more profits and eventually open a tea estate, creating an opportunity for further growth and a stronger source of income in the future.

The loan will be shared among members of Talandira 3 Group to strengthen their different businesses. Members will use the financing to purchase farming inputs and stock for activities such as vegetable, fish, tomato, and snack sales, while others will invest in restaurants, grocery stores, and livestock.

The Microloan Foundation, Lendwithcare's local partner in Malawi employs a unique 'centre' model for lending to female entrepreneurs. A centre comprises several sub-groups which share the same name as the centre. As such, you may have seen similarly named group loans from Malawi all belonging to the same centre. In this system, each woman is individually responsible for repaying her loan, but the group offers mutual support by assuming overall responsibility together.
