Phindu 7 Group

Phindu 7 Group from Ntcheu is a vibrant team of five married entrepreneurs who are dedicated to improving their families’ livelihoods through farming activities. Together, they support 21 dependents, including one orphan. Through cooperation, encouragement and shared responsibility, the group members continue to strengthen their farming businesses and build more secure futures for their households.

Tamandani is a 20-year-old married woman and an active member of the Phindu 7 Group. She is married to a businessman and has one child. Despite her young age, Tamandani has already established herself as a committed farmer, having been in the farming business for the past two years.

She started farming with the goal of supporting her family and contributing to their daily needs. With the help of two family members and one additional assistant, she works hard to improve her productivity and income. However, limited access to quality farm supplies continues to affect her yields and overall production.

Tamandani plans to purchase essential farm resources, such as seeds and fertiliser, to improve her crop output. Her long-term dream is to acquire her own farm, which would allow her to expand her farming activities and achieve greater independence and stability.

The Microloan Foundation, Lendwithcare's local partner in Malawi, employs a unique 'centre' model for lending to female entrepreneurs. A centre comprises several sub-groups that share the same name as the centre. As such, you may have seen similarly named group loans from Malawi, all belonging to the same centre. In this system, each woman is individually responsible for repaying her loan, but the group offers mutual support by assuming overall responsibility together.
