CAF Benita is a women's group with 14 members, located near Lomé. The group has 15 dependents, including 10 school-aged children, and the average age of members is 32. Members are mainly engaged in commercial activities, including the sale of food, food products, herbal teas, cloth, soap and plates.
Gnyassianya, aged 46, is a food vendor and has been running her business in a shop for over five years. A widow and mother, she is solely responsible for household expenses. Her children are all in school, and their education is a priority for her.
Gnyassianya has applied for a share of the group loan because she encounters difficulties related to a lack of funds to properly stock her shop, which limits the growth of her business. With her share of the loan, she plans to buy more goods in order to increase her stock and better satisfy her customers. This financing will enable her to increase her income and strengthen her business. She will save part of the profits. In the long term, her goal is to open a large shop in order to develop her business sustainably.
These women believe that the loan will enable them to refurbish their premises and purchase more goods in order to strengthen their businesses and improve their income.
