Thinh (57) has lived alone for many years. Her husband passed away long ago, and her two children now work far from home, leaving her to manage daily life on her own in Yen Dinh District, Thanh Hoa Province.
As a low-income household, she has relied on casual labour for more than 19 years to support herself. With age and the distance of her home from the town centre, her opportunities for work and livestock farming have become increasingly limited.
Thinh's current animal sheds have deteriorated significantly, reducing productivity and affecting her daily income. To address this challenge, Thinh has applied for her first loan from Thanh Hoa MFI, Lendwithcare's local development partner in Vietnam. She plans to use the funds to purchase construction materials—sand, stone, gravel, and roofing sheets—to rebuild her livestock facilities. By improving the sheds, she hopes to create safer and more efficient conditions for raising animals.
Looking ahead, Thinh wishes to stabilise her income, gradually renovate her home, and save a small amount as financial security for her old age. Above all, she hopes for good health and happiness for her family, with fewer daily worries and a more stable life.
