Giang, at the age of 39, has established her own family with two children. Her eldest child has grown up, while the second child, aged 15, is currently attending school. The family resides in the coastal area of Hoang Hoa district.
Giang's husband is a manual labourer, earning an inconsistent income. She works as a factory worker and also engages in the traditional craft of making fish sauce, a local delicacy produced from fresh seafood and sea salt fermented for at least one year.
Despite their efforts, the family's income remains unstable, categorising them as a poor household according to the multidimensional poverty criteria set by the government.
With the hope of improving the family's financial situation, Giang has requested a loan from our local development partner in Vietnam, Thanh Hoa MFI. to purchase three tons of fresh fish and sea salt to produce and sell fish sauce for stores and locals. This endeavour is seen as a potential avenue to increase their income.
With the help of Lendwithcare, Giang envisions a healthy and prosperous family, where improved income will lead to an escape from economic poverty.
