Cong is a 64-year-old married woman with three grown-up children. She and her husband belong to an ethnic minority and reside in a remote mountainous area in Ngoc Lac district. Her husband works as a construction worker, and their income is modest. Cong has been involved in small-scale farming and animal husbandry for over 30 years. To supplement their earnings she also works as a hired hand on local farms
Due to a lack of capital for investing in cattle farming, Cong has asked for a second loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to purchase three cows. She plans to raise the calves to maturity and then sell them to traders, generating additional income for the family. Cong is confident that with her experience and favourable weather conditions, the cattle will thrive and contribute to the family's financial stability.
