Vietnam
Dan, aged 50, is a widow who has single-handedly raised her children. She lives with her son's family in a coastal area in Hoang Hoa district. For nearly a decade, she has been running a small successful fruit stand, sourcing fruits from wholesalers in other provinces and selling to local residents. While her income is modest, it is sufficient for her family's needs.
As Tet is a significant cultural celebration in Vietnam, the demand for fruits skyrockets during the period. Families traditionally exchange fruit as gifts, and the festive atmosphere boosts sales for local vendors.
Recognising this annual opportunity, Dan wants to expand her inventory by purchasing additional quantities of popular fruits such as pomelos, oranges, longans, and mangoes. However, she lacks the capital to invest in her business. Therefore, she has requested a loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to expand her inventory to meet the festive demand
