Mrs. Thuy is 60 years old and over the years of experiences she has learnt to overcome many challenges in her life. She is a widow mother and has two grown-up children. Her family resides in a rural area in Nong Cong district.
Mrs. Thuy's main source of income comes from working as a maid for families in her community. She is known for her hard work and dedication, which has allowed her to provide for her family's needs. However, she wanted to increase her income and decided to venture into goat farming.
With the limited resources she had, Mrs. Thuy started by raising a few goats on the nearby grasslands over 10 years ago. She sold the goats to local traders, which helped boost her income. Seeing the potential in this business, Mrs. Thuy planned to expand her goat farming operation.
However, she faced a financial obstacle as she lacked the necessary funds to purchase more goats. Determined to make her plan a reality, Mrs. Thuy decided to apply for her second loan from Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution (MFI) to add the capital to buy ten mother goats. Each goat will cost around $185.00 (£151.83). With the investment she intends to increase her goat herd and sell their offspring for profit.
