Xinh

Mrs. Xinh is a 47-year-old married woman and she has two grown-up children. She belongs to an ethnic minority group and has dedicated her life to farming in the secluded countryside in Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa province, in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. Together with her husband, Mrs. Xinh works as a farmer, cultivating rice and growing industrial trees for timber. They also raise pigs and chickens to supplement their income.

Living in a remote and disadvantaged area, Mrs. Xinh faces numerous daily challenges. She grows industrial trees and sells the wood to a timber factory. This brings the main income for her family. However, because of the unpredictable weather and limited financial resources, her income is unstable and still low.

Industrial trees are important in the region as they help fight soil erosion, especially in the rainy season when they stop landslides. As the trees mature, they are sold to timber factories, giving the family an income and also providing employment opportunities for others in the locality.

Realizing the importance of modern agricultural practices, Mrs. Xinh decided to take this first loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to purchase 5,000 high-quality tree saplings and 40 bags of fertilizer for her timber business. This investment will provide her family with a sustainable source of income and also contribute to the growth and development of her community.
