Mrs. Voc is 34 years old, married and has 2 children. Her children are going to school. Mrs. Voc and her family live in Cam Thuy District, a mountainous area of Thanh Hoa province. Her family has a small business, selling construction materials to people in and around her locality.
Mrs. Voc’s family income comes from the store and her husband's wage. Her husband sometimes works as a manual labour in the village to earn an extra income. The difficulty that concerns her is that her family’s latrine is old and unhygienic which causes healthy risks for her family but their income isn't enough to build a new toilet. She has therefore applied for her second loan cycle from Thanh Hoa MFI to pay wages for the builders and buy some materials to build a hygienic toilet for her family.
