Mrs. Huong is 51 years old and married. She has three grown-up children. Her family lives in Nong Cong district, a rural area of Thanh Hoa province.
Mrs. Huong and her husband has been making bricks. Their bricks are made from yellow sand, crushed stone, white sand, white cement, pigments and necessary additives. She makes a bulk purchase of the materials she uses from the factories and employ three people from her locality to help her in her business.
Recently, the market's need are for adobe bricks. The demand is higher because adobe bricks are cheap, stable and good for environment. Mrs. Huong and her husband has been running their brick manufacturing business for over 5 years and they are doing well. Her husband also has a small truck for transporting the bricks.
The couple would like to invest in their business by buying more materials and machines and employ some more people in their locality in the future. She applied for a loan from our local partner Thanh Hoa MFI. She has been a member of Thanh Hoa since 2011. She will repay the loan in 20 months and hopes for her business to do well in the future.
