Chiyanjano 3 is a group composed of 8 women who are running small businesses selling different products such as homemade snacks, vegetables, groceries, farm produce, livestock and clothes. The women are requesting the loan to help them invest in their businesses. The women are married and care for children and other dependents between them. They started the businesses to earn a living and provide for their families.
Ruth is a member of Chiyanjano 3. Aged 43, Ruth is a married woman and her husband does not work. Together they have 6 children. To support them Ruth sells vegetables and sweet potatoes with the help of 2 family members. She will use her loan share to buy 10 bags of sweet potatoes and the profits from this business will be used to pay school fees for her children. The other members will use their shares to buy stocks of fish, vegetables, groceries, clothes and sweet potatoes for sale. These women are grateful for the access of loans as most of them are managing to feed their families and for Ruth she has managed to build a house.
