Vun Bo is a 38-year-old father of two living in the Sangke District of Battambang Province with his wife and children. Vun’s two children, a boy and a girl, are aged 10 and 8 years old and currently go to school locally.
Vun has been a farmer for over 15 years but also takes on work in construction in the local village when he can in order to provide for his wife and children. He has a strong work ethic, and has been growing wet season rice on a plot of land measuring approximately 3 hectares for many years. This plot of farming land would normally yield around 3 tons of rice per hectare, but Vun has decided to focus more on growing his farming business so he doesn’t have to rely on the construction work quite as much.
In order to increase his yield and to sell more crops at the local market, Vun has requested a loan in order to purchase an additional hectare of farm land to grow wet season rice.
