Zafika group is composed of 15 women of different ages. All the group members are married and have children who depend upon them. The women seek loans to support and boost their small businesses. They mainly run stalls selling snacks, vegetables, groceries etc. to earn a living. The group started their businesses to be able to provide support for their families and education for their children.
Lebitaa member of the Zafika group is 23 years old. She is married with one child. She has been running her own grocery shop for over seven years with the aid and support of one of her relative. In recognition of the local business opportunities she is seeking this loan to purchase more groceries in larger quantities including sugar, salt, and soap. Her ambition is to be able to expand her shop and thereby be in a better position to support her family with their financial needs.
