Socheat Tith has almost fully repaid a loan that he received in 2013. He used the money to buy all the necessary inputs for farming. Unfortunately, he lost most of the maize he had planted last year because of flooding. In total he was only able to gather around five tonnes which he sold for $125 per tonne. However, he has fared better in 2014 and has planted maize, cassava and rice on his six hectares of land. Socheat has been particularly diligent in ensuring that none of his current crop is lost to pests. He expects a good harvest and he hopes that his region is not as badly affected by flooding in the forthcoming rainy season.
