Business destroyed and mended with tin sheeting

Business destroyed and mended with tin sheeting

Generosa's house was destroyed by the typhoon, but her son reconstructed the shelter above the business with tin sheeting that they were donated. This shows how the business was a bigger priority than her home.

The typhoon destroyed all her stocks of clothes. The savings she had built up with our partner co-operative, FCCT helped her a little and she has been able to buy new stock on a sale or return basis. She is trying her best to recover in order to be able to send her granddaughter to school.

Generosa's son and wife are fishermen; they fish, then sell the cooked fish called Kitong. Their boat was partially destroyed by falling debris during the typhoon. They managed to mend parts of it, but have no money to repair it properly. In the meantime, fishing is too dangerous with this boat.
