Update from Alexandra Jiménez

Update from Alexandra Jiménez

Alexandra Jimenez Torres received a loan about six months and has successfully made the first few repayments. Alexandra sells cosmetics (mainly the brand 'Avon'). She started this about three years to help pay for her studies and she has branched out and also sells clothes as well. She used the loan to buy perfume, cologne, lipsticks and other items. She used a small part of the loan to pay her university fees at the Technical University in Loja, which is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. She is in her final term of an Accounting and Auditing degree. Her business is profitable because the margin between the price that she pays and the price that she sells is large - suppliers sell her cheap and customers are willing to pay higher as long as she allows them the opportunity to pay gradually in instalments. She also work as a secretary in the land registry office. Not only can she support herself and her daughter, but also her parents and siblings with whom she lives.
