We went to Calavi to greet Marceline, she was delighted to see us and told us she had good news for us. She has a relatively big stall outside her house and now has another stall in the Danktopa market, the largest market in Benin. Marcelline's business is growing and so too are the number of customers. Marcelline's children are all well and one of them is going to take exams leading to a qualification this year. She has taken out several loans over the last few years and told us that it has been very, very helpful to have access to them. The most important thing she has been able to do since running her business is to build a house. “This was a very big step”, she said. Her current plans are to build a proper shop outside the house to serve her customers better. “My dream is to travel to the UK and meet the lenders from lendwithcare. In the meantime I want to send warm regards”, she said with a big smile.
