Somying, a determined farmer with also had a passion for sewing, decided to apply for a loan in the hopes of strengthening her modest sewing business and turning it into a viable business. After receiving the loan in November 2024, Somying followed through with the plans she had envisioned. Her sewing business started generating approximately £47 - £71 per month, a supplementary income that greatly helped support her family. However, life presented her with a test when health issues forced her to temporarily pause her sewing business. During this difficult time, her responsibilities remain, including caring for herself and looking after her younger brother's child. Fortunately, her brother continues to send financial support of c £118 per month. Most importantly, the encouragement from her husband, who stands by her side, is the vital strength helping her overcome this setback.
Although Somying is very conscious of her loan debt, she is determined to repay it as soon as possible - her eyes light up with hope and determination to return to her sewing machine once her health improves.
