Kanlaya is a talented weaver who has been running a silk-weaving business for many decades. She lives with her children and a school-aged grandchild. Each day, she sets a goal for how much she needs to complete, and once she reaches it, she has time to focus on other tasks. This steady approach to her business has provided a reliable income for her household.
In September 2024, Kanlaya decided to take out a loan from Lendwithcare to improve her silk-weaving business. With the loan, she was able to purchase silk threads, colour dye, and repair her weaving equipment, which had started to wear out. Moreover, after receiving the loan, she has been able to produce more silk cloth for sale, which has increased her income and enabled her to better support her family.
