Since 2004, Emmanuel has taken out 29 loans, mainly to buy stock for his shop. He is making gradual progress in building his business. Before he had access to loans, he was earning around 15-20,000 pesos per month. Now he is able to earn 50-60,000. Despite competition his business is making a profit regularly. This has allowed him to pay for his son and two daughters’ education. His son and eldest daughter are both studying engineering. Emmanuel hopes his children will do well in their careers. Emmanuel himself studied civil engineering at college. He later worked for an electrical company before starting his business in 1993. He enjoys work and life- he enjoys assembling antennae and being his own boss! Despite previous difficulties, Emmanuel finished building his house in 1995 and he loves it. He has also bought another house in 2007, which is reserved for his future with his wife and children. Emmanuel works extremely hard for what he has. He runs the shop from 7 am until 7 pm every day of the week. He never takes a holiday, not even on Christmas day.
