Business update from Sakakna Sun

Business update from Sakakna Sun

Sakakna's store is situated on a very busy (and dusty) road that leads from the Kamping Puoy Reservoir, which is approximately 16km west of Battambang town, and a bitter sweet legacy of the Khmer Rouge regime. Sakakna told me that although she is pleased her store is situated in a busy location, the dust and noice created by trucks hurtling up and down the main road was a bit of a problem and she worried about the safety of her young daughter. However, she did say the road was worse at certain times of the year and that is wasn't a problem all year round. Sakakna said that she had used the loan she received through lendwithcare to buy stock for her store in bulk as well as to buy ingredients for the cooked dishes she now makes. She also explained that a lot of customers buy things from her on credit so the loan helps to provide a decent cash flow for her business. Sakakna works alone in the store but her husband, who offers a taxi service between their village and Battambang town, helped her by picking up stock from the town. Sakakna said that her store was doing well and she would like to expand operations in the future. She said she did everything for her daughter and wanted to make sure she has a good education
