Sary Soy farming update

Sary Soy farming update

Since receiving her microloan, Sary Soy has purchased one more hectare of rice paddy to produce more rice for sale. Now she farms two hectares of rice paddy and has spent the last few months planting her rice. She spends her time visiting her farm often and her rice is currentlly healthy since a part of her farm got a lot of rain this season compared to some other villagers who did not have much rain. Sary cuts the grass on her farm every week. Farming once a year is not really producing high profits for Sary and her family so her husband decided to plant a good quality rice seed which they can sell for around $250 per tonne. This type of rice is also in high demand in the market place. During late November all of their crops can be cultivated to sell to a trader. While they wait for their crop to be ready to harvest, Sary's husband can also work for other private companies where he can earn around $4 a day cutting grass and picking maize.
