Celso Lizaran owns a beauty salon in the neighbourhood of Poblacion in Cebu province. His business, which he runs from his home, offers unisex haircut services. After successfully completing his loan worth 15,000 Philippine pesos from the microfinance organisation, Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative, he has been able to increase the number of his regular customers because of his improved quality of services. He primarily used his loan to purchase better kinds of hairdressing tools and equipment. Since many of his customers are women, he also increased his stock of hair creams. Celso is grateful to have a good increase in his monthly saving by 1,000 Philippine pesos. He has been able to acquire few appliances and a motorcycle. He is using his motorcycle to decrease his daily travelling expenses. This is indeed the start of the fulfilment of his dream to own a large salon someday.
