Evelyn Jumuad is a married woman from Poblacion in Cebu province. She is a dedicated fish vendor in the nearby public market and sells different varieties of fresh fish and other seafood products. She availed a loan from the microfinance organisation, Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative, which she used to increase the volume of her daily offerings and renovate a small part of her stall. This has enabled her to increase her monthly income. With this increase in income, Evelyn is now able to increase her monthly savings and renovate a part of her house which was made from nipa (woven palm leaves) using concrete. She has continued to manage her fish stall well and has enough supplies for her community. She has also maintained the fair price of her products. Evelyn has also been able to acquire a new motorcycle using her increased income that her husband uses for delivering fish products, going to and from the market and taking their children to school. She is grateful for the wonderful opportunities the institution has granted her.
