The first half of this year has been good for Mrs. Ol Pol’s farming. She farmed cassava on farmland size three hectares and got 13 tons of cassava roots per hectare which is a high yield for her farming. The price for this cassava root she received was around $100 per tons. She made a profit of around $500 from selling the cassava roots to her local trader. She said that this year the price for cassava root is higher compared to last year. She thinks that there is a high demand for exporting cassava to other country. Her plan is to use some of the profit to cover her cassava farming cost for the next season. She will cover the labouring costs (as she general hires 10 villagers to assist her on planting and chopping the cassava root while each of them are paid $5 a day for their work), some money will be used for buying farming products and paying for the ploughing costs.
