Update on Savat Pory

Update on Savat Pory

Savat Pory received a loan earlier this year to buy ducks and commercial feed. His investment has gone well and he has nearly completed repaying the loan. He has had no problems meeting repayments. Although he has had the business of raising and selling eggs and ducks for several years, it is only recently that he received government training on vaccinating the animals. He has not lost any animals to viruses. He bought the ducklings from a neighbour with the loan money and has fed them on the rice fields supplemented by commercial feed. He has been harvesting and selling their eggs - he has a motorbike which he uses to transport the eggs to Chrey Market every day. He has been collecting around 300 eggs a day to sell and earns around US$20 each time he sells. He has also sold around half of the ducks to other villagers and kept the others which he will sell for their meat at a later date. He will start with the next cycle of animals from October.
