Update from lendwithcare on Karolina Atagic

Karolina Atagic received a loan recently from the microfinance foundation 'Women for Women International'. She has started making repayments on the 12 month loan. Karolina is also a member of the association of the same name from who she received training some years ago. She makes by hand, paints and sells dolls and other decorative figures. The dolls are often dressed in traditional Bosnian clothing and are bought as gifts. She used the loan monies to buy raw materials in bulk - mainly plaster. This is actually quite expensive and cannot be bought in small quantities for retail. Karolina lives alone in the capital Sarajevo in her own house. The job is quite time consuming and intricate but Karolina takes great pride in her work - her porcelain dolls were voted as the best in Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2000 and often the best way to promote her products is through exhibitions. Karolina has some new ideas she wishes to explore and hopes to continue with her business and even expand and export some of her dolls outside BiH.
