Adjo buys maize and beans in bulk from local villages and sells to local traders. She sells in a wholesale market three days a week and on the other days she travels to the villages to buy the maize. When I visited her a couple of weeks ago, Adjo told me that she is always busy. Her biggest problem is the cost of travelling to the villages and buying good quality products. Another difficulty is fluctuating prices. However, Adjo said she is optimistic about the future, she makes around £320 per month profit. Tracey Horner, March 2012.
