I travelled to Atakpamé Togo in March 2012 to meet entrepreneurs and catch up with their progress. Unfortunately we discovered that Kodjo was in hospital in the capital Lomé after contracting malaria. The picture attached to this update is of his closed up workshop. Luckily, our partner MFI, WAGES loan officers know the entreprneurs well and he was able to update me on how Kodjo's business has been progressing. He was also able to reassure me that Kodjo is likely to recover from this bout of malaria as he had enough money to take himself to hospital. Kodjo repairs fans in vehicles and in fridges and had added 'cd sales' to his repertoire. Although, in the UK we might find it strange for someone who repairs car and fridge fans to sell CDs on the same premises, It is very common in Togo for people to run multiple activities.
