Nazeeran Bibi is a resident of a small area in the city of Lahore called Haneed Park. She is 43 and married with one son and five daughters. All of her children go to school and she is paying 3,00 rupees monthly for their studies. Her husband runs a small business and earns 15,000 (about $147) rupees per month on average. She felt that her husband's income was not enough to manage their household expenses so she decided to start her own business about four years ago. She gets orders to supply shoe upper soles from factories. She buys the leather, rexine and other shoe making items from the main market. She currently earns 9,000 rupees per month. Nazeeran applied for a loan worth 30,000 rupees to buy her raw materials in bulk from the market. She will work harder and make more shoe upper parts to raise her income.
