Mrs Dinh Thi Diep, 34 years old, is a single mother farming in a mountainous area of Hoa Binh. Her husband passed away a few years ago so Diep has to develop her farming on her own. She has been working on 500 m2 of sugar cane field for 2 years. Other than that, she also works on 500 m2 of corn and 700 m2 of rice paddy. She also breeds a buffalo to help her with field work. As she has a 14 year old and a father who is over 80 to take care of Diep would like to expand her breeding size. She would like to buy 5000 egg-laying chicken hens to breed to meet local demand as well as bring organic and protein rich food to her family. She also would like to buy 10 sacks of fertilizer for sugarcane to increase her sugarcane productivity. She applied for a loan to buy the above items. She will pay back in 24 months.
