The GS Venunye-TOTSI Group consists of three members with an average age of 35, who between them care for six dependants of whom three are school children. The members are all based near Lomé where they have their own businesses which include sewing, selling second-hand clothes and trading in food products. They are confident that the loan will enable each of them to expand their businesses.
Komla is one member of this group. He is a 54 year old tailor and retailer of ready-made clothes. He has been running his tailoring business for 20 years. He is married and has several children. His wife is a retailer and contributes to the household income.
Komla will use his share of this loan to purchase certain tools needed for his work, in addition to fabric to make clothes for resale. This investment will enable him to expand his business and increase his income.
The other members of the “GS Venunye-TOTSI group” will use their shares of this loan to strengthen their various businesses by providing them with additional stock. This funding will therefore help to develop their businesses and improve their incomes.
