The CAF Ambassadrice Group, based near Lomé, has nine members with an average age of 25. Together, they support 31 dependants, including 14 school-aged children. The members are involved in a range of business activities, including hairdressing and the sale of bags and food products.
One of the members, Agbodjan, is 25 years old and has been running her own hair salon and hair extension business for more than three years. She is married with children and lives with her husband, who works as a tailor. Together, they share household expenses and support their children's education.
With her share of the group loan, Agbodjan plans to increase her stock of hair extensions for resale. Before accessing finance, she lacked the capital needed to maintain sufficient stock levels and fully meet customer demand. By purchasing additional stock, she expects to increase sales and strengthen her income.
Looking ahead, Agbodjan hopes to further improve her salon and continue growing her business. She plans to save a portion of her profits to help finance future investments and business development.
The other members of the CAF Ambassadrice Group will use their shares of the loan to purchase additional stock and improve their business premises. By investing in their enterprises, they aim to expand their activities, better serve their customers and increase their incomes.
