Richie

Richie is 46 years old, married, and has six children. Four of her children are currently studying, while her two youngest are still toddlers. Her husband contributes to the family’s income through his buy-and-sell business involving trucks used for sugarcane hauling. They live in Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Richie has been a member of Lendwithcare's local partner, FCCT, since 2017 and is currently on her 19th loan cycle. She is a hardworking mother of six who earns a living through farming. She manages a one-hectare intercropping farm where she cultivates bananas and pineapples, as well as another one-hectare area planted with watermelon. Her watermelon production is a significant source of income, with approximately 14 tons harvested over two months, generating an estimated income of £3,300. Her husband also contributes to the household income through his buy-and-sell business involving trucks used for sugarcane hauling. Four of their children are currently studying, while their two youngest are still toddlers.

As a member of the FCCT Cooperative, Richie has requested a loan to provide additional capital for the cultivation and maintenance of her banana, pineapple, and watermelon farms. The loan will be used to purchase fertilisers, farm inputs, and other necessary supplies, as well as to pay labourers who assist with various farm activities.

Richie hopes to maintain the productivity of her farms, increase her agricultural income, and continue supporting the education and welfare of her six children.
