Chibbaketi 0702 is a group of women from Southern Province, Zambia, aged between 25 and 50 years. Together, they care for 39 children and work hard to provide food, education, healthcare and other essential needs for their families. The members operate various small businesses, including poultry farming, selling second-hand clothes, shoes and vegetables, as well as fish trading. These businesses provide essential goods to their communities and serve as important sources of income for their households.

Prisilla is a 50-year-old married mother of five children. Her husband works as a bricklayer, and together they strive to provide food, education, healthcare and other essential needs for their family.

For the past five years, Prisilla has operated a poultry business, raising and selling chickens to customers in her community. Through her experience, dedication and proper care of the chickens, she has established the business as a reliable source of income for her household.

Prisilla has requested a loan to purchase more chickens, feed, vaccines and other poultry supplies. This investment will enable her to expand the business and increase her income. Other members intend to order more goods from their share of the loan.

The Microloan Foundation, Lendwithcare's local partner in Zambia employs a unique 'centre' model for lending to female entrepreneurs. A centre comprises several sub-groups which share the same name as the centre. As such, you may have seen similarly named group loans from Zambia all belonging to the same centre. In this system, each woman is individually responsible for repaying her loan, but the group offers mutual support by assuming overall responsibility together.
