Marcela

Marcela is a 52-year-old mother of four children. Two of them are already working, one has her own business, while the youngest is still in college. Together with her husband, Agustin, they run a café that helps support their family's daily needs and their child's education. They live in Cebu Province.

Three years ago, after her husband stopped working as an employee, Marcela and Agustin started an café to support their family's daily needs and their college-going son. They serve up to 10 different dishes, including pork silog, pork sisig, chicken silog, and other meals. They also offer a variety of cold drinks and juices.

With the help of their daughter, who assists them in managing the business, they are able to operate the café 24 hours a day, except on Sundays, which they observe as their rest day. Aside from the café , they also have a small grocery store in front of their house, which is open from early morning until 12:00 noon. They close the grocery store at noon so they can focus on the café during the afternoon and evening, which are their busiest hours.

They purchase grocery stocks and cooking ingredients from the mall and local market on a daily basis to ensure that they have sufficient supplies for their operations and can continue providing good customer service. Marcela has recently applied for another loan from Lendwithcare's partner, LAMAC, repayable in six monthly instalments. The loan will be used to purchase additional grocery items and cooking ingredients needed for their daily business operations, particularly meat products, seasonings, spices, drinks, and other essential supplies.
