Mwaiseni 0704 Group

Mwaiseni 0704 is a group of five hardworking women entrepreneurs who are united by a shared dream of achieving financial independence through business. The name Mwaiseni means "welcome", reflecting the group's strong sense of unity and support. With an average age of 38, the women run a range of small businesses, including the sale of second-hand shoes and clothing, as well as restaurant operations.

Together, the group supports 46 children and dependants. One of the members is Mary, a 32-year-old married entrepreneur who sells second-hand shoes. She is the mother of two children and also cares for two orphans, demonstrating her commitment to supporting those who depend on her.

Through her shoe business, Mary has been able to contribute to her household income and provide for essential needs such as food, school expenses, and other daily requirements. She is hardworking, determined, and focused on growing her business so that she can improve her family's living standards and create greater financial stability.

Mary plans to user her share of a group loan to increase her stock of second-hand shoes. By expanding her inventory, she hopes to attract more customers, increase sales, and grow her income. The other group members will also use their shares of the loan to purchase inventory and strengthen their respective businesses.

The Microloan Foundation, Lendwithcare's local partner in Zambia employs a unique 'centre' model for lending to female entrepreneurs. A centre comprises several sub-groups which share the same name as the centre. As such, you may have seen similarly named group loans from Zambia all belonging to the same centre. In this system, each woman is individually responsible for repaying her loan, but the group offers mutual support by assuming overall responsibility together.
