The SCOOPS Terre et Océan d'Or 1 group consists of 12 members who are responsible for 23 children, 12 of whom attend school. The average age of the members is 39. The group is located a few kilometres from Lomé. The members are mainly involved in livestock farming and market gardening. These activities are their main source of income and enable them to provide for their families.
Gbagba has been a farmer and livestock breeder for four years. Aged 33, she is married and a mother. Her husband is also involved in livestock farming, and together they contribute to the household expenses.
She runs her business from home, where she is gradually expanding her farming and livestock operations. With her share of the loan, she plans to buy animals to rear and then sell, in order to generate more income. She faces a lack of financial resources that limits her ability to invest and develop her business. This funding will enable her to increase her livestock numbers, boost her production and improve the profitability of her farm.
Her long-term goal is to create a modern and prosperous agro-pastoral farm. The profits generated by her business will be used to build up savings and to reinvest in livestock farming and agriculture in order to continue developing her farm.
The group members believe that the loan will enable them to expand their activities by increasing their production capacity. The funding will be used to purchase raw materials and animals for breeding.
